OPTIMALISASI VERTIKULUR DALAM MEMBANGUN KEMANDIRIAN PANGAN RUMAH TANGGA DAERAH PERKOTAAN DI KELURAHAN KENDANGSARI, TENGGILIS MEJOYO, SURABAYA
Abstract
As the population increases, so does the need for land and food. In the midst of urban communities, of course, efficient food cultivation must be carried out. The vertical system is used as an alternative to the limited land owned by the community in vegetable cultivation in urban areas. Verticulture is a way of growing vertically which is suitable for use in the yard of the house. The advantage of verticulture is that it saves land, water and fertilizer. Through the real work group 002 University Bhayangkara Surabaya lecture program which was held in the Kendangsari village, Tenggilis Mejoyo, Surabaya with the theme "Implementation of the Verti Village Program in an Effort to Build Food Self-Reliance, in Kendangsari Village, Tenggilis Mejoyo, Surabaya". To achieve this, KKN Group 002 carried out socialization, training and assistance to residents of Kendangsari village. After these efforts, residents can do their own cultivation and are able to utilize the results of their cultivation into a healthy product and have a selling value. Verticulture is an alternative chosen by Community Service Program group 002 Bhayangkara Suarabaya University to be a solution in building food self-sufficiency
